Slight progress on the job front! Recently ran into one of the people from Computing Services with whom I worked on my final IS project, and she mantioned that another person I worked with recently left Computing Services and started a non-profit organization. Even better, she's currently writing up specifications for a tech position she's about to announce, and I got my hands on her email address! Been struggling over the cover letter to send to her for the past three days, but finally finished it and sent it out just minutes ago. Now I guess I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed. I think I have a pretty solid chance of getting an interview, since I handled myself quite professionally when I dealt with her over the course of the IS project and wrote good code to boot. Of course, this being a non-profit, chances are that the pay is going to blow. OTOH, beggars can't be choosers, and I'm happy as long as the job builds my resume and pays enough to keep a roof over my head and donuts on my table ^^

In other news, saw Pirates of the Carribean Wednesday night, which was a lot more fun than any movie based on a Disney ride had any business being. Some great dialogue, fight choreography, and acting, from Johnny Depp in particular. The movie could have used a litle shortening, but all in all, definitely worth the time and the money.
